14 Christmas Markets and Fayres in Cornwall 2024

I love a Christmas market don’t you!?

Time to get all festive with the lights and hand-made crafts, and the smells of hot chocolate (or mulled wine for some).

Here are some of the best markets to check out.  I have included some of the smaller markets which are sometimes overlooked and so deserve a shout out.

These are in date order, so you can plan out your shopping accordingly…

1. Healeys Cyder Farm 

Every weekend until December 15 – 0900-1700

Around 30 market stalls which changes each weekend, including jewellery, woodcraft, candles, and food.  Theres also live music, cookie decorating and kids story time.

Cost: Free entry to the market

2. Truro Christmas Market 

November 22 to December 24

Located on Lemon Quay, this 33 day long market showcases local crafts, food, a bar, entertainment and gifts. Open daily until Christmas Eve, with extended hours on Wednesdays.

Cost: Free

3. Fowey Christmas Market 

November 22-24

Located throughout the streets and quay of Fowey, with live music, local crafts, and festive foods and activities. This is a big market with almost 100 regional traders. 

The market starts on Friday 22nd at 1730 and runs into the weekend.

4. Museum of Cornish Life Christmas Fayre

November 23 1000-1600

Fayre located in the museum in Helston, featuring craft stalls, a pop up Christmas Café, storytelling.  There is also a Santa’s Grotto which runs from 1300-1630 and has to be pre-booked and is £3.50 per child – each child receives a toy.

5. Bedruthan Hotel, Mawgan Porth, Christmas Fayre 

November 23-24 1000–1600 

Various craft stalls from artisan makers around the southwest, selling a variety of Christmas gifts such as art, crafts, gifts, jewellery and food and drink and more. There is a Play Space Creche for children but I think this will incur a further fee. 

Cost: Adults £2, Children £1, under 5s Free. Price includes parking, shuttle bus to the event and entry. 

6. Cornwall Christmas Fair at the Eden Project 

November 27-28

This fair in the iconic Eden Project will feature up to 70 stalls selling gifts, artisan food and drink in the food hall, and fashion, with a portion of proceeds benefiting local charities.

Cost:  £32 for the evening fair on 27/ £20 for the day fair on 28

The Fair is not included in the price to enter Eden project (it is not an Eden run event), but entry to the Eden project is free for all Christmas Fair ticket holders attending on 28 November.

7. Jubilee Pool, Penzance Christmas Makers Market

December 2, 1200-1800

This is a small fair at the poolside in Penzance, which includes  Cornwall based makers, books, artwork, clothing, candles, bath and beauty, ceramics and food and drink. Their café will be open too.  Team this with a walk along Penzance Promenade and you’ll be feeling fresh and festive.

8. Falmouth’s festive weekend

December 7-8 1100-1700

A weekend of festive events including Christmas markets centred around The Moor and Events Square, but also the Poly in town. There will be a land train, Santa’s grotto, live music, children’s rides and the National Maritime Museum will be free entry.

9. Polgoon Vineyard Penzance Christmas Market

December 8 1100-1500

A variety of stalls featuring unique local artisans and makers.  There will be carol singers there too, and you can pick up your Christmas wine in the shop!!

10. Carbis Bay Coastal Christmas Market, Carbis Bay Estate

December 7-8 & 14- 15, 1100-1700

Held during the first two weeks of December, featuring more than 40 stalls, Santa’s grotto, and live music along the scenic coast.

11. Cornwall Christmas Market – Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge

December 13-15

This is a large market with over 120 independent traders selling arts, crafts, food, drink and more. There is also an itinerary for entertainment, street performers, a giant Christmas tree, mulled wine, Santa’s grotto and reindeer.  Selfie with Santa costs £10 each, see the event website for full details. Kicks off on Friday 13 at 17:30 and runs through the weekend. 

12. Mount Edgcumbe Christmas Fayre, Torpoint 

December 14-15 1000-1530

Set in the beautiful Mount Edgcumbe estate, this fayre offers over 50 artisan gifts and food exhibiters, live entertainment, Santa’s Grotto and family-friendly activities such as Festive Bubble Wonderland. There will also be Alpacas to see!

Cost: £5 adult £3 child – return boat access deal available via Plymouth boats  Tickets must be pre-booked. 

13. Porthleven Shipyard Market, Porthleven Christmas Market

November 29-30 (1200-2100, 1000-1900), December 1 (1000-1900)

Located by Porthleven’s Harbour in the shipyard market and marquee, with festive stalls and the chance to meet Santa.

Cost: Free entry

14. Trevena Cross Christmas Markets

Every weekend from November 30 – December 22 1000-1600

A range of craft stalls, fine foods and drinks, an opportunity to see Father Christmas (no grotto this year) and other ‘walk about’ characters. Photo opportunities, including one for dogs!

There are so many more Christmas markets!  Each market offers a unique festive experience, so make sure to check specific dates closer to the time as they may vary year-to-year.
